Frequently Asked Questions
Competing for Excellence
Students and others may periodically compete anonymously for awards and rewards using our online grading service. Tests, prepared by teachers and other experts, may be scheduled throughout the year so that participants can go online and enter the competitions on the scheduled dates.
Initially, competitions will focus on STEM related subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), beginning with Mathematics. Business, the arts, vocational education and other subjects will be added as needed.
Participants are encouraged to sign-up and use the various learning tools available to them through this service and elsewhere in order to prepare for the competitions. Cheating or dis honesty, if discovered, may result in the associated portals being removed from the service. The rewards are usually provided by our sponsors and may include coupons, certificates, trophies, scholarships, money, employment opportunities, etc...
More information will be added here as various competitions are scheduled throughout the year.

How To Select and Print Calendars
Five types of calendars are supported. Each calendar have years ranging from 0001 to 9999. In order to open a specific calendar year, you must logon and click My Profile, Calendar Types, enter the desired year and then click Open. This allows you to print any calendar year within that range. You may also transfer calendar events from one year to another.
In order to print a calendar, you must open the calendar and click the calendar Month Name, click the Main Menu and then click Print. We suggest that you print two pages (the calendar picture and the calendar events) and scale each page to fit one (8 1/2 X 11 inch) sheet of paper. Long months might require printing each page separately.
The following types of calendars are provided:

The following types of calendars are provided:
- The Personal calendar helps you manage personal events. It's ideal for storing birthdays, family events, personal videos, etc...
- The Community calendar helps you manage community events. It's ideal for keeping track of holidays, community news, world news, local and national elections and history in general starting from year 0001.
- The School calendar helps you manage school related events. It is typically used to structure learning activities, store videos of lectures and schedule tests. It also calculates your grade average when you hover over each calendar date. You must enter RESET for the Test Score to mark the end of a grading period.
- The Lifestyle calendar helps you manage and exchange lifestyle related events. It is typically used to analyze the integration of lifestyle altering financial situations such as the purchase of a new home, a new car, the payback of student loans, or the addition of new income.
- The Financial calendar analyzes your plans and then calculates your financial future, weeks, months and even years ahead. It helps you manage calendar events by displaying your end-of-day account balance when you hover over each calendar date weeks and months into the future. Negative balances are shown in red and positive balances are shown in black.
Multiyear projections will require you to go to your Profile and then open the year that you would like to see. These are detail calculations performed mostly by your local computer. Therefore, fast computers and fast browsers can often produce quick results.
Entering Calendar Events
There are three ways to enter calendar events:
Each event must have a unique calendar, time and date. The computer will automatically attempt to separate events having the same time by two seconds.
Each event must have a unique calendar, time and date. The computer will automatically attempt to separate events having the same time by two seconds.
How To Manually Enter Calendar Events
You may click on any calendar date to access the Event Editor for that date. This will help guide you through entering and editing calendar events. However, if you prefer the faster method of typing your events directly into the calendar input field to the right of the calendar date, you must enter the event parameters in the order listed below separated by semicolons and then press Enter. Leave the parameters empty if they do not apply.
After you enter an event, you may drag and drop it anywhere on the calendar, or you may use the Event Editor to add, move, copy, or delete events. You may also use the Search Button to locate events not shown on the current month and the Undo Button to undo mistakes.
Only enter the parameters listed above that apply. In order to skip a parameter, you must enter a semicolon and go to the next parameter. Here are some examples of event entry shortcuts using the format:
(EventName ; Time ; Amount ; Color ; Link ; VideoIDs ; Notes)
You may also add events to your calendars by right-clicking the calendar date to copy events from another user, or by left-clicking the underlined calendar name to copy all events for the full year.

your calendar. You may use the Color parameter to change the color of the EventName. The EventName may also be coded to have a special meaning, such as when defining a test.
-
Time: Enter 24 hour time in the format hh:mm:ss.
-
Amount: This parameter is used to determine your daily account balance. Enter a positive number to add to your daily

How To Copy Events From Other Users
There are four ways to copy calendar events from other users:
These four methods of updating your calendars from others put you in control over the information that will appear on your calendars, including ads from sponsors of which you must also click to view.
- The first way is to allow certain people to update your calendar remotely by email. This option is available on the Welcome Back page when you Sign-in. Your online records will be updated as soon as the remote users submit their events. (See below: "How To Input Events Remotely".)
- The second way is to have the system automatically copy the events from your selected helper chosen when you setup your calendar.
-
The third way is to click to download events from a specific user. You may download all events for the entire calendar year by left-clicking on the underlined Calendar Name and then entering the calendar owner's UserID/EMail Address, or you may download the events for one day by right-clicking on the calendar date.
-
The fourth way is to Mass Input events from external sources. Mass entry allows calendars to be updated with multiple events such as when adding events scheduled for an entire school year or when adding events scheduled for an entire community. This data must be entered in the Mass Event Input field on the Event Editor form. Event must be separated with the end-of-record marker, "<>".

How To Input Events Remotely
You may allow friends and others to update your calendars remotely. For example, you can request people throughout your school, family, or community to help you collect videos and other events for your calendars and then share those calendars with others.
Simply logon to your account and then click Request Events to email requests for calendar events to your list of friends. This allows them to post videos and other events directly to your calendar. You may also print and / or email your calendars containing the new events to a list of friends.
This public sharing of your calendars requires you to click My Profile, click Calendar Types and then select the calendars that you would like to show or share with the public.

How To Create and Take Tests
Whether you are creating a test or taking a test,
your test EventName must be entered as follows:
When creating a test, you must first logon to the TeacherEMailAddress account, click My Profile, click Tests & Rewards and then setup a TestID, TestName, and an optional password. You may revisit this form later to manage test-taker rewards.
If your test document is online, you may enter its Internet address, otherwise enter instructions for your test-takers about where to get the test and how to get started. You may also enter a list of people who should receive a copy of the test results. Click the Update Button and then go to your calendar to schedule the test and input your answer key.
When you're done, your Test-Takers may go to their calendar, right-click the scheduled test date, input your TeacherEMailAddress to download your calendar events for that date and then left-click on the test event and start taking the test.
If the account logged on is the same as the TeacherEMailAddress, the computer will assume the user is the teacher and that the answers given are all correct and should be used as the answer key when grading other users. Simply left-click on the test event and start entering the answers.

How To Manage Your Lifestyle
We define your lifestyle to be the things that you do routinely within one year. We assign a value to each of those things in order to determine the total cost of your lifestyle. Two ways are provided to help you manage your lifestyle and its related finances, a Lifestyle Calculator and a built-in Budget Calendar.
The Lifestyle Calculator
The Lifestyle Calculator helps you predict your financial status based on your anticipated incomes and expenses. It allows students and others to examine and copy the lifestyles of others and then modify those lifestyles to fit their personal situations. This can help students evaluate various career choices before they commit to them. You can also calculate the financial results of combining different lifestyles.
You may also use AI to help you fine tune your lifestyle. EZ Plan lets you transfer the results from your Lifestyle Calculator to YouTube when searching for videos. For example, you can ask YouTube to show you the houses or cars on file that you can afford if your Net Income is 75000. In this case, your YouTube search request would probably look something like: "What type of cars can I afford if my net income is $ny."
Simply, insert any of the following list of variables in your search request. Each amount will be rounded to the nearest cent (two decimal places) before it is inserted.
The Lifestyle Calculator may be accessed from the Main Menu. Simply select a sample lifestyle and then modify your list of incomes and expenses. The computer will automatically predict your wage and salary requirements based on your chosen lifestyle. You can modify any part of that lifestyle and immediately see the results.
Built-in Budget Calendars
The second way to manage your lifestyle finances is with detail calculations of all anticipated income and expense transactions. This feature is available in all calendar types except School which calculates grade averages instead.
Simply open your calendar and enter an amount in the Event Amount field. Hover over any calendar date cell for any year and the computer will predict your end-of-day account balance for that date, displaying negative balances in red and positive balances in black. You may drag and drop transactions around on your calendar or import groups of transactions such as your student loan, car, or home payments in order to visually see problems at a glance before they actually occur.

Learning With Study Buddy
Study Buddy uses incentives, trophies, certificates, awards, scholarships, money, employment opportunities and more to encourage learning. Lesson Plans for each subject, often created by teachers, are usually setup online for grades (1-12), starting with 8th Grade Math. Teachers and other experts are often paid to post their lectures and learning materials online so that students may access these materials to study as often as needed.
Students are assigned portals that include incentive management and self-assessment tools so that they can learn at their own pace and accelerate learning when possible. The incentives are usually provided by sponsors who must also setup portals, but instead use them to announce their offerings. These offerings and incentives are often filtered and may include sponsor events, coupons, awards, trophies, certificates, scholarships, employment opportunities, etc...
Study Buddy competitions are periodically held to encourage student performance. (See FAQ Competing for Excellence.)
We don't make the courses studied. We make the courses studied better by cultivating the interest of students and by drumming up community support.
